Throughout the UK, NG Bailey staff dedicate time and effort to raise funds for charity by completing a range of team or individual activities ranging from completing fun runs to organising office team dress down days. NG Bailey has dedicated a proportion of its community investment budget to support our people's fundraising endeavours by contributing donations.
Throughout 2010/11 our staff continue to dedicate personal time to raising funds for a wide variety of causes. There were over 65 team and individual fundraising activities and NG Bailey contributed £20,000 to the chosen charities of our people.
An example includes the £1,400 that was donated to Cancer Research to support a team in London’s fundraising efforts when they arranged a charity football tournament which involved both our staff and clients. Another example is how, in Scotland, £2,000 was donated to St Andrews Hospice after 20 NG Bailey employees volunteered to support the annual Strathclyde ‘It’s a Knockout’ day.
In addition to supporting many individual applications, NG Bailey staff were invited to choose which charity they would like to support as part of the 2010 Christmas Card campaign. The company chose to produce an email card and donated £3,000 to Cancer Research, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Great North Air Ambulance, and The Lighthouse Club in lieu of the normal printing costs.
Finally, an employee ‘Give As You Earn’ scheme was established which enables staff to commit to a regular donation to charities and maximise the amount that they donate through tax deduction and a matched contribution.
